7th District Representative Dr. Kedrick Pickering

“Politics is the art of the possible,” said National Democratic Party (NDP) Seventh District Representative Dr. Kedrick Pickering as he spoke at the launch of his re-election campaign to the House of Assembly.

The campaign launch was made official on Saturday night and Pickering stood beside the NDP leader Dr. D. Orlando Smith as the only two members from the previous government to be re-elected to the House in the 2007 General Elections.

Speaking without a prepared statement, Pickering made it clear that he is not new to the political scene and had no intentions of going quietly, even though discreetness is his most popular trait.

Armed only with a theme ‘Committed Representation and Competent Leadership – Then, Now and Always’, Pickering said that even while in the “insignificant” opposition benches he was able to make notable accomplishments on behalf of his electorate. He cited accomplishments in drainage, irrigation and other areas over the past four years.

Pickering also mentioned plans to improve on those developments while making progress in other areas over the next four years with a focus on education and recreational projects among others. He said, “I am not afraid to beg on behalf of my people,” as he called for continued support for his mission to “continue” to supplicate for the Seventh District.

Further, Pickering noted his readiness to take on new responsibilities – a statement that comes on the heels of questions from the opposition for his true title within the NDP.

Some speculate that Pickering holds the seat of vice chairman for the NDP but this is yet to be confirmed.

Dr. Pickering you are one of only three politicians (Irene Penn and Andrew Fahie being the others)that I truly respect and would wholeheartedly give my votes to.

Hon. Pickering we love you and the NDP. Tell the VIP stop trying to create strife within the NDP, you are a humble man and they trying their best to make you look like you want position. Just because they have confusion in their camp they feel that NDP must be in the same boat, but there is a big difference in the calibre of men on the NDP team. VIP clean up your mess in your own backyard before you try to clean what is not in other people own. I tired of you all.
