20-year-old faces court for unlawful sex with minor

Twenty-year-old Shawn Williams awaits his fate from the Judicial system as he sits on bail for unlawful sexual intercourse with a girl under the age of 16.
The incident occurred on August 6, and swift action saw Williams in police custody on August 7.
He appeared before the Magistrates Court in Road Town on August 10 to answer to the charges.
The BVI native was granted bail in the sum of $20,000 and had to surrender his passport and is to have no contact with the Virtual Complainant (VC).
Details of the case suggest that Williams had met the High School Student on facebook.
She was working at a hotel in the city at the time of the incident, as an assistant for the summer.
The court heard that Williams, who attends the H. Lavity Stoutt Community College (HLSCC), went to Tortola from his residence in Virgin Gorda, and rented a room in the hotel.
While the girl was on duty the two engaged in sexual activity.
The incident might have gone unnoticed had the VC’s boss not been looking for her at the time.
It is understood that surveillance video shows the teenage girl exiting the room paid for by Williams.
When confronted by her boss, the girl admitted her actions. She reportedly repeated this admission to her guardians and the police were later called in.
The matter had been adjourned until September 7 when the Preliminary Inquiry will get underway.

the judge needs to understand tha it’s the girls also take parts of these sexual activities. not only the male should get in trouble but also the girls, to many 13 – 15 yrs old girls r sexually active. the girls also needs disaplain they lie about their age and dress up like they are a big 21 years old mature woman and they r not. and also all the big men out there listen up
when u meet a girl on facebook or a dating site, and u asked them about their age, and they say that their 18 stop and think and look at there picture and speak 2 yur self . and u will see dat dis girl looks 2 young 2 be 18 yrs old. men u most be wise use what God gives 2 u, young girls nowa days is the trouble makers for grown men so be wise and stay away from young girls.

Who To Blame When These Girls Act So Grown
Parents is who to blame
I always say and will maintain that these young ladies need to be held responsible for their actions the law will take care of the men but these girls need some form of fear instill in them.
Another day, and yet another case of unlawful sexual contact with a minor in the news. Men 18 and over should understand that if a girl is younger than 16, the law states unequivocally that she cannot consent to having sex no matter how willingly she may have been. Now, it’s not unusual to some precocious 16 year old sashaying around in today’s world, but regardless, the onus is ALWAYS on the adult male to do the right, LEGAL, and commonsensical thing and NOT engage her in sexual activity under any circumstances. Failure to do so could give you a definite stay at Balsum Ghut. It does not matter how adult the young girl may act. Indeed, she could be practically naked as many walk around today, or even encouraging, the answer should always be NO. Send her on her way, keep walking, hang up your phone, not accept her as a Facebook friend, or simply tell her in no uncertain terms that she is not ready.
Now, there is something that needs to be said about these precocious young girls who think they are grown. Their activity is wrong as well. The law may not have provisions to punish them for knowingly and willingly engaging in sex with adults, but at a minimum, they need to know that what they are doing is wrong as well even if all that can be done is to give them a good old fashion tongue lashing, but definitely these young girls should receive some counseling.
One last thing, parents needs to stay involved in their children’s lives. Have age appropriate conversations about sex as they grow and mature. Do no wait until they are way past puberty nor after they begin experimenting to engage them. We live in the age of HIV/AIDS, and it’s imperative that all parents talk to their kids about sex. Any parent who does not have these conversations with their child is failing to be good parents in my view. Internet activities should be monitored where possible as well, even for a 16 year old who think they may be grown.
Anyway, here is the bottom line guys: If you know a girl is 16 or younger, the onus is on you to not have sex with her. In other words, the buck stops with you. The answer should and always be NO, and if she does not understand, ask her which part of NO she does not understand? Balsum Ghut is getting pretty crowded guys. Value your freedom; don’t throw it away.
i agree with RAY 100 0/0. LEARN TO SAY NO. GUYS YOU ARE THE ADULT HERE, EVEN IF THESE GIRLS PUT THEIR GOD GIVEN GIFT ON A PLATTER AND PRESENT IT TO YOU, YOU MUST BE STRONG AND WALK AWAY. LEAVE THESE YOUNG GIRLS ALONE. THEY ARE JAIL BAITS. AS RAY RIGHTLY SAY …… VALUE YOUR FREEDOM
