The Adina Donovan Home for the Elderly is inviting the public to visit its residents and learn more about the facility during an open house on Wednesday, May 18 as part of the Senior Citizens Month calendar of events.

Manager of the Adina Donovan Home for the Elderly, E. Victoria Wheatley told the Department of Information and Public Relations that the open house is an annual event designed to foster greater interaction, and to continue building
relationships between members of the community and residents of the Home.

Wheatley affirms that over the years the facility has been well supported by the community.

“We have families and various social service organisations who provide their services to help maintain a healthy social and physical environment for the residents,” she shared.

The Manager of the Adina Donovan Home for the Elderly expressed her appreciation to the members of the community who regularly visit the residents and encourage more persons to do so.

“Residents adapt much better when they see persons from a familiar environment and they don’t feel as left out,” said Wheatley.

The open house will begin at 10:00 am and will end at 2:00 pm.

For more information on the open house or ways that the public can offer support to the Adina Donovan Home for Elderly, please contact 494-4690.

The Ministry of Health and Social Development endeavours to provide leadership that promotes health, social well-being and a safe environment.

Good job Mrs. Wheatley. This shows that you care about the people in there. Keep up the good job even though I know iit can be difficult at times.

It would be nice if there was a way folks can get in touch with those in charge ( head nurse) so that they can get updates on family members well being by using EMAIL. It’s not that folks don’t care about family members that may be residing at the home but calling to the BVI is very EXPENSIVE and this will help a great deal…thanks.
