ALIVE WORD: Be sure your sin will find you out

“But if ye will not do so, behold, ye have sinned against the Lord: and be sure your sin will find you out.” Numbers 32:23
God is calling each of us at this time to examine our lives in light of the Word of God and repent. This is not the time to cover up your sins. “He that covereth his sins shall not prosper: but whoso confesseth and forsaketh them shall have mercy.” Proverbs 28:13 This is not the time to be wearing masks and being hypocritical as Christians. Exposure is at the door and that which is done in secret will be proclaimed on the roof tops. It is time to repent.
God is calling us to righteousness and holiness. He is calling us to be lights in this world of darkness and to be examples of believers. The day of compromise is over. There is nothing secret with God. God sees all things and knows all things. Man may not see your secret life but it does not escape the eyes of God. God is merciful but he is also a God of judgment. When we know something is wrong and we do it anyway, we have chosen the path of darkness and even when we repent, at times we still have to suffer the consequences of our actions. “And the times of this ignorance God winked at; but now commandeth all men every where to repent.” Acts 17:30
It is time for men and women to be concerned about their souls. It is time for people to realize that this life is not all but that each of us have to one day stand before God. “…for we shall all stand before the judgment seat of Christ.” Romans 14:10b If we name the name of Christ, the things that we do and the things we say and the life we live should portray the attributes of Christ. “Nevertheless the foundation of God standeth sure, having this seal, The Lord knoweth them that are his. And, let every one that nameth the name of Christ depart from iniquity.” 2 Timothy 2:19
We are living in serious times, yet perilous times are ahead. We have not seen anything yet. If ever a time we need to have a relationship with Jesus Christ it is now. If ever a time we need to call on the name of the Lord it is now. If ever a time we need to humble ourselves and turn from wicked ways it is now. If ever a time we need to stop calling good evil and evil good it is now. People are dying left and right. The young, the middle aged, the old. We do not know who is next. It is time to get right with God!
How have you been living? What have you been doing to or saying about others? Be reminded that whatever we sow we are sure to reap. “Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap.” Galatians 6:7 How are the works of your hands? “Who shall ascend into the hill of the Lord? or who shall stand in his holy place? He that hath clean hands, and a pure heart; who hath not lifted up his soul unto vanity, nor sworn deceitfully. He shall receive the blessing from the Lord, and righteousness from the God of his salvation.” Psalm 24:3-5
Take time out today and ask God to search your heart. Allow God to take full control of your life and if you know that you are sinning, repent and ask God to forgive you. For exposure is nigh and judgment has already begun in the house of the Lord. It is clean up time. “For the time is come that judgment must begin at the house of God: and if it first begin at us, what shall the end be of them that obey not the gospel of God? And if the righteous scarcely be saved, where shall the ungodly and the sinner appear?” 1 Peter 4:17&18 Be sure your sin will find you out!
Dear God,
In the name of Jesus Christ, I acknowledge that I have sinned and I ask you to forgive me of all my sins. Lord I repent of all the wrong things I have done in thought, word and deed. I ask you to create in me a clean heart and to renew a right spirit within me. Lord I ask you to cleanse me from all secret faults and to remove all iniquity from my heart. Today I rededicate my life to you and ask you to help me to live a life of holiness and righteousness that is pleasing in your sight, in Jesus’ name, amen.
