“…take heed that no man deceive you” – Matthew 24:4
Good Morning to all our readers.
There is some myth going around that Judgment Day is on Saturday, May 21, 2011 and people have come to our land spreading these lies, we encountered them in January.
Do not be deceived. All you need to do is make sure that you are in right standing with God but God says no man knows the day nor the hour.
Beware of false prophets and false teachings that do not line up with God’s word.
Tomorrow’s devotional will be on this topic.
One of the major weapons the enemy is using against the body of Christ is the spirit of deception. The word of God tells us that the devil is the father of lies. He cannot tell the truth. Yet sad to say, many times when he speaks to us we believe his lies instead of the truth of God’s Word.
We’re made of spirit, soul, and body. In our soul lies our mind, will, and intellect. When we become born again, our spirits are changed but our flesh isn’t born again. That’s why the Word of God tells us that we need to renew our minds with the Word of God.
The enemy’s temptation begins first in our minds. When we’re thinking things that are evil and terrible thoughts, it’s often the enemy planting them. We must learn to recognize his tactics and right away cast down the imaginations and everything that tries to exalt itself above Jesus Christ.
If we don’t cast down these evil thoughts and lies and resist the devil, we begin to believe that the lies are actually truth. And the next thing we know, we’re saying them from our lips or doing them.
Beware of the spirit of deception, brethren. The spirit of deception is depressing, discouraging, and destroying many Christians today. We need to stand against this spirit lest we fall. Don’t agree with anything that doesn’t line up with the word of God.
There’s strength and power in agreement. When we agree with the devil we give him more ammunition with which to come against us, so in essence we help him destroy us.
None of us would give someone bullets to put in a gun that they have pointed to our heads. So why then are we doing the same thing in a spiritual sense?
Yes, the challenges are there, and yes the pressures are real, and yes you feel like you’re being stretched like a rubber band. However, if you’re beginning to believe that you’re not going to make it, that God isn’t going to come through on time, and it makes no sense to pray or fast anymore, know that those thoughts are coming from the devil.
Don’t believe what he’s telling you. Think on the opposite of what he’s telling you because the opposite of the lies that he is speaking is the truth.
God says that He will not give you more than you’re able to bear. God says that He will make a way of escape for you.
God says that you’ll not be made ashamed. God says that He’ll perfect everything that concerns you. God says that your seed shall be delivered. God says that your husband will be won by your chaste conversation and manner of life.
God says that your enemies will become your footstool. God says that by His stripes you’ve already been healed. God says that when you tithe and give, He will rebuke the devourer for your sake. God says that the wealth of the wicked is laid up for you.
God says that promotion comes from Him. God says that He will never leave you nor forsake you. God says that when you go through He fire you’ll not be burned, and through the waters, they shall not overflow you. Look at the promises that God wants you to remember today.
These are the things that God wants you to rise up and believe today.
Don’t allow the enemy to deceive you with the lies that he speaks directly to you or through others. Jesus Christ is truth.
Believe the truth. Believing lies could cause your spiritual as well as physical death. It’s sad that many Christians today are thinking about committing suicide—thinking that there’s no hope—when the word of God tells us to hope in the Lord.
The devil comes in and tells them that life is too hard, that they cannot make it—to kill themselves and it’ll be all over. That they would go to heaven and that God would understand. This is a lie from the pit of hell. Suicide is a sin. Many are in hell now because they took their own lives. Be not deceived by the lies of the devil.
Compromising is sin, in whatever manner it’s done and for whatever reason. Don’t steal from your employer (neither time nor supplies), even if you’re underpaid and deserve a raise. Work heartily as unto the Lord. Promotion comes from God.
Sometimes the enemy deceives us and tells us to do bad in an attempt to bring about good. But light and darkness don’t agree, and God has called us to walk in the light. Yes, you may be in a position now to repay evil to someone who has done you evil, but don’t be deceived.
God says to render no man evil for evil but to bless those who persecute us. Vengeance belongs to God; don’t take matters into your own hands. Beware of the spirit of deception.
You may be at a crossroads right now or you may be faced with a serious decision. Maybe one day you’re feeling like you should do one thing and another day, another thing. Before you do anything, get alone with the Lord and seek His face.
Ask Him to bring clarity. God will not tell you do anything that isn’t in line with His Word. God will not tell you to lie, cheat, steal, murder, or hate. He will not tell you to commit adultery, suicide, or fornication, to consult the psychic hotline, to envy, or to be jealous.
These are all works of the flesh and don’t glorify God in any way. Galatians chapter five tells us that all who do such things will not inherit the kingdom of God.
Many Christians are leaving the faith, being led away by spirits of deception, and following other gods. The Bible speaks about people having itching ears. We must be grounded in the Word of the Lord and know what the Word of God says.
The Holy Spirit’s our greatest teacher. Beware of people who try to influence you with new revelations and doctrines that don’t line up with the Word of the Lord. If something doesn’t line up with God’s Word, reject it. Beware of false prophets who are guided by the spirit of deception.
Ask God to help you to discern and to test the spirits. Whatever God does, the devil tries to imitate. Don’t build your Christian life on prophets and prophetic words. Build your life on the Lord Jesus Christ and the Word of the Lord. Spend time in the presence of the Lord, draw nigh to the Lord and learn to recognize the voice of the Lord for yourself.
If you do that, a prophetic word from the Lord would be a confirmation. Prophets can make mistakes, but Jesus is our perfect example.
Beware of the spirit of the antichrist that the Bible says is already in the world. Beware of the spirit of deception. Jesus Christ is the only way, truth and life. There’s no other way to God but through Jesus Christ.
Today I would like to encourage you to beware of the spirit of deception. Don’t entertain it in your life, in thoughts, words, or deeds. Don’t allow the spirit of deception working through others to influence your walk with the Lord. Lie plus lie equals lie. Truth plus truth equals truth. Lie plus truth equals lie. If we sow seeds of deception, we’ll reap a harvest of corruption. But if we sow seeds of truth, we’ll reap a harvest of blessings.
Walk uprightly. Walk worthy of the vocation that you’ve been called to, so that if you’re persecuted for righteousness sake, they may be ashamed that accuse you. Walk in the light and walk in truth. Walk in the Spirit and walk in the Word. Walk in truth and your soul shall live.

Did not really read all of the article but I will say this…We are supposed to ensure we are ready whether is tomorrow or May 21. And what I see of what going on in the world and even in my little Tortola….many are seeking the wrong things….lets get our priorities straight.
False prophets have been around for centuries and will continue to deceive many. I too have heard this lie and thank God I know His Word otherwise I would of fall for it. I have heard of people who are frighten because of this lie simple because they do not know the “Truth”. The Word of God warned us of these type of people. Children of God continue to study His Word and ask God to grant wisdom and He will surely give you the understanding you desire.
I pray these people repent and seek the face of God for spreading such lies. No one knows the time nor hour; yet still they are telling you May 21, 2011. People let no man deceive you. This is the day of salvation.
