“Giving no offence in any thing, that the ministry be not blamed: But in all things approving ourselves as the ministers of God.” - 2 Corinthians 6:3,4a
Every leader who is exposed in sin is not necessarily someone who is just wicked or evil.
There are those who truly desire to serve God from their hearts but are in a constant battle with the flesh but continue to give out and give out and burn themselves out to a point where the demonic forces then get the better of them.
Many are constantly doing and doing and going and going – not taking proper time to spend in the presence of God, not taking time to seek God daily on an individual level so that He can reveal hidden plots and traps. Yes, it is true that some leaders enter into presumptuous sin but then there are those who walk into traps of witchcraft, get entangled with Delilahs and Jezebels – Leaders beware.
Leaders in the Body of Christ, Jesus Christ is our perfect example but the world is looking at us for we are the only Bible that some ever read. They are looking at our lives to see the qualities and characteristics of Christ in our walk and in our talk. It is one thing when the thing that are in the public or in the media are false but it is a whole different ball game when these things are true. “For it is better, if the will of God be so, that ye suffer for well doing, than for evil doing.” 1 Peter 3:17
The name of Christ is being blamed for so many who are being exposed in leadership positions in the Body of Christ. You try at times to witness to sinners and they turn a deaf ear because they are so hurt by the many accounts of immorality and inappropriate behaviours of church leaders. Sinning church leaders, humble yourselves, repent and step down if you know you need to because that is much better than if God has to bring you down. Stop hiding behind the pulpits and the titles. Repent and get right with God!
Some ministries do not have proper things in place to restore those who have fallen in sin but that is another devotional all by itself. When we sin and ask forgiveness, God forgives us. Yes it is true that some will never forgive a fallen leader even if the person genuinely repents but it is not about people, it about you and where you stand with God and what could happen if you die in your sinful state. God is merciful, He is not like man. Repent and get right with God. Let Him clean you up.
This devotional is not one to judge anyone. It is being written to encourage leaders who are not walking in righteousness and having struggles with sin that is overcoming them to repent and step down. Also to tell the Apostles, Prophets, Pastors, Bishops to stop pretending as if you are not hearing God when he tells you that a leader needs to be sat down or when you know for a fact that one or some of your leaders are not living right. Remember you are the one who will have to account to God for their life and the lives that you allow them to mess up if you do not discipline them in love and do what God tells you to do. Compromising because of who they are, how long they are in the ministry or how much money they pay in tithes is wrong. You don’t want to offend them but what about how you are offending God.
This is not true in all cases but in some cases, when you want to know what the strongman is in a ministry where the leadership is living in sin, check out what is happening with the young men or the young ladies because what is at the head will flow right down.
Judgment has already begun in the Body of Christ and you may be fooling the congregation and the brethren, but you cannot fool God. God who is merciful and all loving is speaking to you in this hour and saying to you, “I love you, I do not want you to perish, this is your opportunity to get in right standing and to get help.”
If you know you need help, get help. You do not have to care who says what, for your soul is at stake. Get help and I don’t mean from the witches and warlocks, they need much help themselves. You don’t go to the devil to help fight the devil. Pray and ask God to lead you to someone who He has anointed to help you. You maybe trying to deal with the temptations on your own because everybody look up to you and think that you have it all together yet the things you preach about and warn people not to do are the same things that you are doing in secret. Step down for your sake, the people you lead, your family and the sake of the name of Jesus Christ. (Friday’s Devotional – “Bribe not, and be not bribed”)
