“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD , “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” - Jeremiah 29:11 (NIV)

No matter who or where you are today, know that God has created you to fulfill a special purpose on this earth. Your life is a precious gift from God and you were created to serve Him.

The fact that God allowed you to be born and you’re still alive means that He has a mission for you to accomplish.

No matter the circumstances under which we were born, none of us was born by chance. We were all born because it was God’s will. In Jeremiah 1:5, God said to the prophet, “Before I formed thee in the belly I knew thee; and before thou camest forth out of the womb I sanctified thee, and I ordained thee a prophet unto the nations.” It’s the same with all of us. God knows us from beginning to end. He perfects everything that concerns us.

You’re unique. You’re special. There’s no one on earth like you, because you’re an original. God doesn’t make carbon copies. God thinks very highly of you even if you’re not a Christian. God doesn’t like sin, but He loves the sinner. God has special plans for you. The plans that God has for you, however, can only be accomplished if you surrender your life totally to Him.

Many people today are living in turmoil, fear, and distress because they don’t really know Jesus Christ, who is the Prince of Peace. They’re looking for happiness in people, in things, in positions, in possessions, and in careers. They don’t understand that happiness is temporary but the joy of the Lord is everlasting.

Many people try to accomplish goals, to progress in life, and to do greats things without the Lord. But God said in John 15:5, “I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing.” We cannot accomplish our purposes in life without the help of the Lord. In our own strength and in our own wisdom we’ll fail. In our own strength we’ll get the things that we think make us happy, and we’ll still feel miserable. Jesus Christ is the only one who can fill that void in our lives. Jesus Christ is the only answer. He isn’t only the answer, but He has all the answers.

God has great plans for your life. God will never lead you where His grace cannot keep you. Some people are afraid to really trust God because they don’t know what He’ll ask them to do. The Bible states, however, in Psalm 18:8- 9 that “It is better to trust in the LORD than to put confidence in man. It is better to trust in the LORD than to put confidence in princes.”

It is better to commit your life totally to Jesus Christ and allow Him to direct you than to rely on your own wisdom or on the wisdom of men. Godly advice is always good but good advice isn’t always godly. God is the only one who has the perfect blueprints for your life. He wants you to serve Him in Spirit and in truth. He wants you to walk in humility.

Your life is precious. Don’t allow the devil to control your life. The devil also has plans for your life. His plans are outlined in John 10:10a, which states, “The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy.” The devil wants to destroy you before the plan of God for your life is accomplished. If you put your trust totally in the Lord, rest assured that Jesus Christ will not only give you life, but abundant life.

This is the day and the hour to be ready. Mark 2:17b says, “I came not to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance.” Today, if you don’t know Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, I encourage you to give your heart to the Lord. If you’re backslidden, I encourage you to repent and come back to the Lord. If you’re a Christian, seek to know the plans God has for your life and allow Him to guide you so that His divine plans for you will be accomplished. “If ye be willing and obedient, ye shall eat the good of the land” (Isaiah 1:19).

I challenge you today to allow God to do all that He wants to do in and through you. I challenge you today to be all who God wants you to be. I challenge you today to live a life that is pleasing to the Lord. God has great plans for you.
