“He hath shewed thee, O man, what is good; and what doth the Lord require of thee, but to do justly, and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with thy God?”
- Micah 6:8

Leaders are very influential and important because the decisions they make and their actions and words affect the people who they lead.

Leaders who understand what it means to be a leader and who lead with integrity, today we salute you.

However, many leaders today have the titles and the names but have absolutely NO INTEGRITY.

For some leaders anything goes and when I say anything I mean anything.

They will use and manipulate, intimidate and undermine people to get what they want, when they want it and how they want it.

They do not care who they have to trample, lie on or whose character they have to destroy in the process.  Yet, the funny thing is that the things they do those whom they lead, they would not like anyone to do to them.  If you sow bad don’t expect to reap good. A true leader leads with humility, integrity, has a servant attitude and fears God.

A true leader realizes that he/she did not make him or herself but there is a God above who they have to give account to. as well as the people who they lead.  When a leader reaches to the point where they do not care about the people they lead or their motives are corrupted and they have hidden agendas they are treading on dangerous grounds, not so much with man but with GOD!

Man may be seeing the actions and the words but God is seeing the heart. Leaders, be very careful how you treat people. The person who you may chose to abuse, misuse and treat like a dog today might be the person who you have to turn around a beg for a favour tomorrow.  Do not allow your position as a leader to go to your head to the point where evil becomes the order of the day.

Let justice, truth and the fear of God prevail in whatever leadership position you are in.  Do not lose your morals, integrity and good name over position, power and the almighty dollar bill.  Stand for what is right.  Don’t just talk right but walk right – walk with GOD!  Do not allow people to influence you into doing evil for when you are in jail they will be at home eating steak.

Leaders, think about your family, your friends who are looking up to you to do what is right in whatever leadership position you hold.  If you are a corrupt leader when you are brought down in shame, many lives are affected and some never really recover.

People are watching you, but more important GOD IS WATCHING YOU! Sometimes the questions for some leaders based on how they are leading is “Who is leading you?”  People do not like to hear this but if God is not leading you then the devil is.  If the Holy Spirit is not guiding you then demons are.  There is no in between. The Lord will never lead you to do evil and treat people like dirt just to maintain your position of power or get what you want. The Lord will never lead you to do anything that goes against His Word.

Wise leaders look to God for divine guidance. “Teach me to do thy will; for thou art my God: thy spirit is good; lead me into the land of uprightness.”  Psalm 143:10  Wise leaders realize that without God they cannot and will not make it.  Someone might be saying at this time, “Well I know a lot of leaders who are unfair and evil and they seem to be making it quite good.”  Yes, they may seem that way but when the judgment of God comes on them, they will know what time it is.

God is all merciful and he gives time and space to repent but when people do not repent the result if judgment and sometimes exposure.

True leaders should not be corrupt. In 2 Peter 2:19  it states “While they promise them liberty, they themselves are the servants of corruption: for of whom a man is overcome, of the same is he brought in bondage.”  Corrupt leaders sow to the flesh.  In Galatians 5:19-21 it states the works of the flesh “Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness, idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies, envyings, murders, drunkenness, revelings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God.”

The results of sowing to the flesh is stated in Galatians 6:8 “For he that soweth to his flesh shall of the flesh reap corruption; but he that soweth to the Spirit shall of the Spirit reap life everlasting.”  Humility is a true characteristic of a true leader.  Yes, you are a leader whether by the choice of God or by man.  However, do not abuse your position by being pompous, puffed up and prideful.

“The fear of the Lord is the instruction of wisdom; and before honour is humility.” Proverbs 15:33  If you are walking in pride and have become prejudice, for your own sake, humble yourself.  For if you don’t God has a way of humbling you.  “And whosoever shall exalt himself shall be abased; and he that shall humble himself shall be exalted.”  Matthew 23:12

If you have an attitude of “Do you know who I am?” which is nothing more than and “I” disease, it is time to see Dr. Jesus. Leaders you cannot be wrong and strong!  We all make mistakes and when we do, the humble take the road of repentance and apologize, but the proud take the road of an unrepentant attitude which leads to destruction, deceit and do all they know to justify their wrong.

God is the righteous judge and He does not miss one detail of our lives.  Leaders, it is time for soul searching and heart examination in accordance to the standards set out in the Word of God.

For no matter what leadership position you hold always remember this, one day you will stand before God and give an account for your position as a leader and for the lives that you were chosen to lead.

May Psalm 51 be the prayer of all leaders today.
