“The blessing of the LORD, it maketh rich, and he addeth no sorrow with it.”
- Proverbs 10:22
Blessings sent from God are without sorrow and they have no strings attached.
Be careful, be wise, be watchful, be prayerful when someone tells you that they want to bless you.
Some people give blessings with strings attached.
Strings serve only one purpose and that is to tie and to bind.
There are some that use the opportunity when someone is in need or in a desperate situation to come in as “Godsent’ but the help that they give has hidden motives and strings attached. They help to hurt.
It is important as children of God that we seek God in every situation and in every area of our lives. There is a tendency at times to only seek God about matters that appear to be big or challenging but lean to our own reasoning and understanding when matters seem small. However, sometimes it is the small situations that if we do not use the wisdom of God dealing with them, at times become huge problems.
Many unfortunately are using manipulation and control which is witchcraft because it violates the will of an individual in their relationships with others. Carnal Christians will connive, scheme, lie, manipulate in an effort to get others to do what they want them to do and do not care if they individuals are hurt in the process.
Such actions are ungodly and are neither a sign of the love of God or of righteousness and holiness. If someone helps you in a situation only to later be reminding you years and years after of what they did for you; especially when they are trying to get you to do something that you do not really want to do, this is an obvious sign of manipulation. What might have seem like a blessing at the time they helped you, came with strings attached.
You may be in a situation right now where a friend or family member helped you out at a time when you were going through a very rough time, but because of the demands that they now put on you, the guilt and the way they use that situation to control you, you wish that you never received help from them.
True love is neither selfish, controlling or manipulative. Yes, when someone blesses you, it is right to show gratitude and appreciation but if that blessing turns into bondage and an eternal tie to them that they constantly remind you about, that is sorrowful. In some situations it is really best to seek God and when He says wait, as much as you may be going through just wait on Him to work things out for you by using people handpicked by Him who will not use their being of help to you to manipulate and control your life and bewitch you.
Some people have become like puppets in the hands of others all because they helped them to get a job, bailed them out of a financial situation, helped in a family matter, stepped in to save a broken marriage or fed them in a time when they were hungry. This robs the victim of their free will and it is nothing more than witchcraft.
In Galatians 5:20-21 witchcraft is named as a work of the flesh and the consequence is that they which practice this will not enter heaven. “Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies, Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God.”
God looks at our hearts when we do things for others. He knows whether or not our motives are pure. When we bless others out of pure motives, God is sure to bless us.
“And let none of you imagine evil in your hearts against his neighbour; and love no false oath: for all these are things that I hate, saith the LORD.” Zechariah 8:17
“If ye fulfil the royal law according to the scripture, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself, ye do well.” James 2:8
“And he answering said, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy strength, and with all thy mind; and thy neighbour as thyself.” Luke 10:27
