“When good people run things, everyone is glad, but when the ruler is bad, everyone groans.” Proverbs 29:2
The Bible is very clear about the consequences of the righteous being in authority. “When the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice: but when the wicked beareth rule, the people mourn.” Proverbs 29:2 For some reason, a lot of people today do not feel like righteous people should be in leadership positions but the question then is this, “Would you rather the unrighteous and wicked rule our land?” Seriously?
The dictionary defines righteous as – having or marked by uprightness in principle and action: good, honest, honorable, incorruptible, true, upright, upstanding, In accordance with principles of right or good conduct: ethical, moral, principled, proper, right, rightful, right-minded, virtuous.
The Bible gives many examples of what happened to nations when the righteous ruled. In those days, age was not a factor. Josiah was just eight years old when he began to reign. Being young does not mean that one is unwise, just like being old does not mean that one is wise.
“Josiah was eight years old when he began to reign, and he reigned in Jerusalem one and thirty years. And he did that which was right in the sight of the Lord, and walked in the ways of David his father, and declined neither to the right hand, nor to the left. For in the eighth year of his reign, while he was yet young, he began to seek after the God of David his father: and in the twelfth year he began to purge Judah and Jerusalem from the high places, and the groves, and the carved images, and the molten images. 2 Chronicles 34:1-3
Joash got rid of the mess in the land, the things that he knew were not pleasing to God. He was young but realized that God does not bless wickedness, idolatry and deceit. He sought God and walked in the way of David his father. Some may say, “Well, David was a murderer and an adulterer.” Yes David committed murder and adultery but he repented earnestly and God forgave him.
We also see that Baasha was an evil King and because he was evil he caused the Israelites to sin also. When leaders are wicked, the wickedness flows right down to those they lead and the weak people absorb their behavior and indulge in sin. “In the third year of Asa king of Judah began Baasha the son of Ahijah to reign over all Israel in Tirzah, twenty and four years. And he did evil in the sight of the Lord, and walked in the way of Jeroboam, and in his sin wherewith he made Israel to sin.” 1 Kings 15:33-34
Then in 2 Chronicles 25:1-2 we read of Amaziah who at age 25 reigned and did what was right but had hidden agendas in his heart. “Amaziah was twenty and five years old when he began to reign, and he reigned twenty and nine years in Jerusalem. And his mother’s name was Jehoaddan of Jerusalem. And he did that which was right in the sight of the Lord, but not with a perfect heart.” Pray and ask God to show you the hearts of people. Pay attention to what is coming out of their mouths. Is it good or evil? “A good man out of the good treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is good; and an evil man out of the evil treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is evil: for of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaketh.” Luke 6:45
In 2 Chronicles 28:1-5 we read about King Ahaz who was wicked and he was killed. “Ahaz was twenty years old when he began to reign, and he reigned sixteen years in Jerusalem: but he did not that which was right in the sight of the Lord, like David his father: For he walked in the ways of the kings of Israel, and made also molten images for Baalim. Moreover he burnt incense in the valley of the son of Hinnom, and burnt his children in the fire, after the abominations of the heathen whom the Lord had cast out before the children of Israel.
He sacrificed also and burnt incense in the high places, and on the hills, and under every green tree. Wherefore the Lord his God delivered him into the hand of the king of Syria; and they smote him, and carried away a great multitude of them captives, and brought them to Damascus. And he was also delivered into the hand of the king of Israel, who smote him with a great slaughter.” There is a price to pay for all those who rule with a wicked hand and are prideful and arrogant; not fearing God nor man.
The unrighteous are bad, corrupt, dishonest, immoral, sinful, unfair, wicked and use people at their convenience. Ahab was stated as the most wicked king in the Bible. He sold himself to work wickedness and He was propelled by his demonic wife Jezebel. There are many Ahabs in leadership posts today, but also many male Jezebels. The Ahabs only hold the title; their Jezebel wives run the show.
Jezebel had a terrible end. She reaped the deadly harvest of the manipulation, mind control, word curses, threats, intimidation and witchcraft that she did. She was thrown down by her own eunuchs, trampled by horses and eaten by dogs.
“Him that dieth of Ahab in the city the dogs shall eat; and him that dieth in the field shall the fowls of the air eat. But there was none like unto Ahab, which did sell himself to work wickedness in the sight of the LORD, whom Jezebel his wife stirred up. And he did very abominably in following idols, according to all things as did the Amorites, whom the Lord cast out before the children of Israel.” 1 Kings 21:24-26 But whatever anyone sow, they are sure to reap. Ahab’s sons reaped the evil that he did. “Seest thou how Ahab humbleth himself before me? because he humbleth himself before me, I will not bring the evil in his days: but in his son’s days will I bring the evil upon his house.” 1 Kings 21:29 The deeds we do today affects our children, grandchildren and other generations to come.
Always remember this “A righteous man can be trusted to act honorably regardless of the circumstances and righteous behavior is its own reward. Many are doing and saying things that are very far from righteous or honorable. Many are trying to deceive through corrupt words and deeds, with hidden motives and agendas. Man sees your actions but God sees your motives.
God is exposing the hearts of many through their words and deeds. Are you paying attention? Be careful in this hour that your words and deeds do not come back as a boomerang to haunt you and your family. For if you are sowing good, then good will follow you but if you are sowing evil know that evil will overtake you.
Praying that God will have mercy on our land and that the hearts of all our candidates be exposed to the people in this hour, that none be bewitched and fooled on November 7, 2011. Praying that God will in this hour open the eyes of all voters to see those who He has hand picked to lead our territory and that we be obedient to God and not be overtaken by all the ‘noise and sudden favors’.
Always remember, “When good people run things, everyone is glad, but when the ruler is bad, everyone groans.” Proverbs 29:2 Would you rather rejoice or mourn?

I totally agree. It is time for true believers to take a stand for righteous. This is the hour, the moment. Change will come.
