Alred Frett

Alred Frett will execute yet another one-man protest come tomorrow morning at 9:00am, from the Noel Lloyd Park to the House of Assembly.

This time he will protest the “Rampant Injustice, Greed and Corruption now threatening our Youth and plaguing our Country.”

The former politician made this disclosure to the press on Monday afternoon.

On April 29 last, Frett executed a similar march along the same route in support of the UN’s effort to support plight of people of African descent against social exclusion, and lack of fairness and justice.

Frett had contested the 2007 General Elections unsuccessfully as an Independent Territorial At-Large candidate.

His cause comes in light of his belief that the politicians could well be putting the children of the BVI “up for sale” through their acceptance of “sponsorship” and other support during the campaign season and to maintain certain lifestyles.

Frett believes, based on a recently publicized opinion penned by him, that the strings of politicians of the day are being pulled by “oppressors” guided by “greed and corruption.”

“This may sound harsh but every 4 years we demonstrate this measure of stupidity as we become flag waving, whistle blowing warriors for persons who couldn’t care whether we live or die provided we put ‘X’ in a box giving them the power to disenfranchise our children… Once done we dare not speak out against their injustice or we will be labeled controversial trouble makers,” he said.

Mr. Frett for some time now I have been very confused as I listen to your comments on radio. Something gone wrong somewhere. I used to admire your stand for our country when you were involved in government but over the years you seem to have changed your vision. Please explain what has happend to you or perhaps you yourself are not aware.

I admire any man/woman who stands for a cause even if they stand alone; however, I am often puzzled when I read/hear charges of “corruption” as the root of a problem without specific evidence of such. In my view the word “corruption” is a serious charge, and the allegation of such should not be made lightly but supported with specific facts.
So, Mr. Frett, and others who use that term, just a friendly advise if you are inclined to take it. It would be more beneficial if while protesting something that specific facts be articulated so that people like me can wrap our heads around them and support the cause. As I am reading the charge right now, the term is being loosely used. Certainly, any form of corruption needs to be taking seriously and rooted out, but in the absence of specific examples do not expect much support.

Good move “SHADOW” my former Cable and Wireless co-worker.
Most people do not realize the harm that politicians are doing to us and our children all in the name of progress. What they are really doing is making life harder for all.
Thanks for shedding some light on the subject.
