Jamaican-born triple Olympian, Usain Bolt struck a win yesterday in his first race back from a nine month break, but needed to hustle ahead of arch rival, Asafa Powell.
Bolt managed to capture the 100 meters at the Golden Gala Thursday in 9.91 seconds in front of some 47,000 spectators, just barely ahead of former world record-holder, Asafa Powell, who was second in 9.93.
“I was nervous as it was my first race of the season and I didn’t think it went well and the nerves got to me,” Bolt commented after the race. “In fact it was a totally bad race and I’m just pleased I won.”

CONGRATS MY BRO I WISH YOU BEST OF HEALTH IN THE COMING SEASON YOU AND ALL THE ATHLETES ESPECIALLY THE JAMAICANS ONE LOVE TO THE WORLD . WE RUN THE TRACK.
Bolt is a legend. It will be interesting to see how he does in the 2012 Olympics – whether he will defend his titles successfully.
But regardless to what happens his place is secured in history.
Even though Bolt won he considers it a ‘bad’ race…….obviously the mind of a world class athlete (he is obviously aware that he has to continously improve to stay on top). Go Bolt……every athlete (male and female) should aspire to be like you!
Congrats! you did it again
