Friday, August 3 – The 9th Annual BVI Art and Culture Show’s silent auction, which took place July 24 in London, collected over $26,000 in proceeds for the BVI’s Family Support Network.
The agency is a non-profit organisation that assists women and children affected by domestic violence.
Commenting on the auction’s success, Director of the BVI London Office Mr. Kedrick Malone said, “We are happy to once again receive the assistance of Friends of the BVI, who sponsored the auction. This much appreciated assistance goes towards priority areas in our community such as the work of the Family Support Network.”
The artwork sold was from the collection, “Nature’s Little Secrets: The Artists’ Perspective”, a compilation of work by 12 local artists.

Speaking about the auction, Honourable Smith said he is looking forward to the winners coming to the BVI’s shores. Many of the prizes donated were sailing vacations with local yacht charter companies and vacation packages with BVI hotels and resorts.
The Annual BVI Art and Culture Show and Territory Day Reception is in line with Government’s mandate to offer local artists exposure via the BVI House, in addition to the enhancement and promotion of local arts and cultural expressions.
