CCT would like to inform our valued customers that the steps being taken to rectify our current network issue and restore full service are in their final stages.

On Monday, December 31st, emergency arrangements were put in place with local carriers to restore CCT’s GSM voice and text services.

This temporary but important measure was initially effected through a roaming agreement with LIME and subsequently with Digicel.

Both CCT postpaid and prepaid customers are being provided services through each one of the carriers.
CCT would like to reassure all customers that they will not incur any additional charges outside of their allocated plans while using this temporary service.

The biggest mistake they are making is in not keeping more regular updates on what is going on. They are being very stupid not to post more information. I have been a CCT Customer since the very early stages of Boat Phone , and at first thought I would last out the problem. But with no continued information I am no longer sure I will stay with them.

I wonder if TRC will get involved and investigate this? Many businesses are suffering, our Government cell phones are on their system. People have it for a joke but this is really serious. They need to confirm what the real issue is. Even if they had to get parts etc. An entire week? Wow! As far as I’m aware, while they have the roaming agreements in place locally, not all folks are able to do it.

Is CCT finished? Is this a technical error or a financial problem? CCT need to come clean on this. Are they a reliable service provider or not? This last week would seem to prove that they are not.

My phone is browsing the internet so fast now and no drop calls in my area. Lime doesn’t have to advertise cct has given them free opportunity and it just shows us how much better Lime is.I will be switching to lime,my phone works better with their service and this downtime and switch networks just converted me,sorry cct but next time don’t let your competition get access to your clients especially if your network is not better.

Wow, I’m and old white guy and I thought that is why I was getting the attitude at CCT. Sometimes I want to ask if they hate old guys, white guys, or both? Seems like others getting the same bad attitude. I wrote to them a few months ago telling them where their web page crashes, and that the time stamp on txt messages is wrong. No reply, nada, nothing, and the same problems are still there.

My cell is not a quad band so how do I get to roam with Lime or Digicel? I was a able to wish my families and friend a happy new year because the company I dedicated my entire service to mess me up. Anyway it’s technology and the service provider is perfect so I will wait on CCT to be back because I still won’t switch.

All the operators in the BVI work on different frequencies. If the phone is quad band, then it can pick up all the frequencies and you can select yourself which operator to use now that there is on island roaming. However, if your phone is not equipped to pick up certain frequencies then it wont pick up all of them. Its like a radio that can only pick up certain radio stations.

Maybe this was a blessing in disguise. I always wanted to know whose data was better for when I eventually leave CCT, now I definately know that Lime’s network is bigger and better. Anyway no wonder CCT net so slow and always disconnecting they aint even 3G!!!. 1st time the 3G button light up on my phone, this is the real unlimited I could get used too.

Digicels is actually faster but can depend where you are. I tested both side by side. But CCT is in the dark ages and getting completely left behind. Bad business decisions; lack of investment; poor management. all a recipe for disaster in telecoms.

Are CCT going to tell us what went wrong? This is an awful long time for a phone network to go down for. It seems like a very serious issue. How can we be sure that this won’t happen again in the near future??? Is this a chronic problem???

The worst thing CCT can give right now is a group of people at its front office with long faces and bad attitude. The Labour Laws give them enough “right” behave this way, but pleaseee. They can’t even fix my phone.

So Lime also helped before Digicel came on board and remained quiet about it????? I guess LIME is a good friend. Digicel could’t wait to scrape whatever customers it could take away. Lots of respect going out to Lime. Deed from the heart

So why did the CEO of Digicel not tell the full story. It is both Lime and Digicel that helped CCT.

    He should be fired.

What nonsense ! The only people who should be worried about their jobs are the people running CCT!!! They are the ones who could not keep their network up and running and see unable to explain to anyone what went wrong. What are we comparing about Digicel?

are you for real???? CCT is only now admitting to both Digicel and LIME helping them and u did not even know that!!! so why do you feel that Digicel’s CEO knew of LIME and CCT arrangement? and if he knew why would he discuss LIME affairs with CCT? that is for LIME to do!!!! and if they approached LIME first and it was so GOOD why did they still approach Digicel? LIME silence does not fool anyone except you people who is looking for free top up from CCT…CCT investors and management need to be fired period!!!!

CCT Customers would also like to inform CCT that we cannot afford for this to happen again and will therefore be transferring our plans to either Lime or Digicel.
