The East Beautification Committee (EBC) invites interested residents of the 7th and 8th Districts to their first meeting of the year this Thursday February 2, 2012 at 7pm at the East End / Long Look Community Centre (upstairs meeting room).
EBC was formed a year ago in January 2011 and is a grassroots community group dedicated to enhancing the physical appearance and health of the communities of the 7th and 8th Districts. By doing so, EBC hopes to improve the quality of life for residents and create a better environment for tourism activity.
In 2011 EBC organised a flower planting at Willard Wheatley Primary School, a cleanup of the East End Park mangroves, started the “Best Kept Yard” recognition initiative, launched the first annual “Deck Your Yard” Christmas contest and submitted a formal plan to Government to create a community park and gardens on the public lands in Greenland.
The meeting on February 2, 2012 will review progress made towards Committee goals and projects that were planned for 2011 as well as discuss the way forward. Election of officers for 2012 will also be held at the meeting.
This is an excellent time for persons interested in EBC to come out and learn more about the organization and get involved. All are welcome on Thursday February 2, 2012 at 7pm at the East End / Long Look Community Centre (upstairs meeting room).
