Community meetings on labour issues continue; meeting with VG fishermen scheduled

The Deputy Premier and Minister for Natural Resources and Labour Dr. the Honourable Kedrick Pickering is inviting residents of the following districts to community meetings on the following dates:

1st District
Tuesday, February 7
Abraham Leonard Community Centre
7:30 pm – 9:30 pm

9th District (Virgin Gorda)
Wednesday, February 8
Catholic Community Centre
7:30 pm -10:00 pm

These meetings are ongoing throughout the Territory providing residents with the opportunity to share and discuss their views and issues concerning any labour matters.

Other upcoming meetings will be announced at a later date.

Persons requiring further information are encouraged to telephone the Ministry of Natural Resources and Labour at 468-3701 ext. 2147.

Meanwhile, Dr. Pickering is also inviting all fishermen on Virgin Gorda to a meeting at the Catholic Community Centre on Wednesday, February 8 from 6:00 pm – 7:00 pm. All fishermen are invited to make a special effort to attend.

    I agree with you Wink…not just Labor, but every Department that has it’s main office in Tortola. W&S, BVIEC, DMV, Custom & Immigration, and First Bank just to name a few…With no real Boss around, everyone just do what they want when they want. The Department heads need to pop up unannounced every so often.

    There is lots of problems with Labor on VG. They are very one sided in their dealings. Cant wait for the Doc to shake them up.
