The public will know more about the government’s infrastructural projects over the next two days, according to the National Democratic Party (NDP) government.

Works Minister Mark Vanterpool will host a press conference to give updates on the project this morning, while a public meeting is to be held tomorrow (July 24) at Marias By The Sea in Road Town.

The Works Ministry stated that the public meeting on Wednesday will give the authorities an opportunity to report on the Environmental Impact Assessment that was conducted for the Cruise Pier Development Project.

Members of the public will also get a chance to provide feedback on the information to be presented during the meeting at Maria’s by the Sea Ballroom. The event is scheduled to take place from 7 to 10pm

Both the press conference and the public meeting have been announced in a week when the government is scheduled to face a motion of no confidence.

Opposition member Julian Fraser will take the motion to the House of Assembly, partly questioning the government’s handling of some of its infrastructure projects in relation to the Protocols for Effective Financial Management which was signed with the United Kingdom.

Fraser has maintained that the cruise pier park project, the airport expansion project and the Home for the Elderly initiative at Spooner’s are all in breach of Section 27 (c) of the Protocols.

The NDP administration however has refuted those claims.
