After completing his primary and secondary school education, Jeremy Hodge immediately enrolled at HLSCC to pursue an Associate Degree in Science, with a concentration in Business Administration, which he successfully completed in 1999. While at the College, he became the first President of the Student Government Association, a position he held for two years.
Since his HLSCC graduation, Jeremy has gone on to complete a Bachelor’s Degree from the Inter-American University of Puerto Rico, where he graduated magna cum laude, and is now pursuing a Master’s from the University of Phoenix, Arizona. Thoughts about the College, its role, mission, programmes and future:
There is no doubt in my mind that HLSCC will be the leading tertiary educational institute in the years ahead and become the envy of the region and beyond. The College has consistently been on an ascending journey toward excellence and the programmes and affiliations they continue to maintain afford students various opportunities to develop and grow. These include the Chartered Management Institute, the Manchester University of England, and other affiliations. I am confident that the College will one day be accredited and listed as one of the top institutions to attend.
Thoughts about time spent at HLSCC, education received and impact on your life
My time spent at HLSCC was a significant learning curve, not only academically, but also personally. Academically, the College looked for nothing less than the best from its students and this became more evident during my pursuit of advanced education and certifications. While away at university with other friends of mine who attended HLSCC, and we applied the standards we were accustomed to, our work always stood out. Often times we were called in front the class and commended for the quality of the material and presentation of papers and projects. As a result, I was able to readily take on the challenge of achieving my goals at an international level.
Further, given this foundation, I have enjoyed being in supervisory and managerial positions ever since. Clearly, the level of maturity that is fostered at HLSCC was instrumental in molding me into who I am today.
