House of Assembly Building

The House of Assembly will be dissolved on September 13, 2011, one day ahead of the constitutional deadline.

Premier Ralph T. O’Neal in the House of Assembly announced the dissolution date this morning.

He said he has already advised the Governor of the decision.

The governor is charged with issuing the proclamation order to dissolve the House in preparation for the 2011 General Elections.

The House’s dissolution paves the way forward for the Elections Office to actively put things in place for the elections which are constitutionally due by the end of November 2011.

Supervisor of Elections Juliet Penn said her office is as prepared as it can for the events after September 13, and eagerly awaits its arrival to put things in place.

So far there are at least three political parties actively on the Campaign Trail – Virgin Islands Party, new National Democratic Party and the People’s Progressive Alliance – but there are said to be at least five that will contest the elections.

Nothing will be known for certain in this area until nomination day, when the Elections Office recognizes the endorsed candidates and their respective political groups.

Now, you got to be sick in your head. If you want the VIP party back then you and them go out on a rock out in the middle of the sea some where you and them alone and take the nonsense they have been giving us so long from them. But, I know we the people of the Virging Islands (British) for sure don’t want them to smell back in the House of Assembly.
We going be voting NDP all the way!!!
