Left to Right…Dr. Virginia Rubaine (Head of Community Mental Health), Ingrid Callwood (LIME Store Manager), Mrs. Rashida Glasgow (Winner), Mrs. Surbhi Hodge-Williams (Accepting prize on behalf of Althea Smith), Mrs. Stacie T. Stoutt-James (Team Captain), and Ms. Sharlene JnBaptiste (Acting Corporate Communications Manager for LIME).

Continuing its partnering efforts with the BVI Health Services Authority, yesterday, LIME representatives presented ‘Incredible Race’ winners with an iPhone 4, and a Blackberry cellular phone.

Mrs. Rashida Glasgow and Ms. Althea Smith won the ‘Dirtiest Contestants’ category of the ‘Incredible Race’, which proved to be one of the toughest challenges, as contestants were tasked with climbing Sage Mountain National Park, where they met a watering hole filled with dirt, leaves, and tadpoles, hoping to unearth Mental Health Stress balls.

Presenting on behalf of LIME, Acting Corporate Communications Manager, Ms. Sharlene JnBaptiste said “Anytime LIME is called on to support the health of our people, we will try to assist. Many times emphasis is placed on physical health with very little concern shown to the emotional and mental health of our community. Our support is a vote of confidence in the work of the BVI Health Services Authority to change this.”

She also pledged LIME’s future support of this challenge, “We are rewarding Rashida and Althea with two of the best devices available; paired with the best telecoms service, for being the toughest of the bunch. LIME will definitely be on board for the Incredible Race next year.”

The Incredible Race was the climax of the activities planned by the Community Mental Health Centre, as it continues the tradition of celebrating “May is Mental Health Month” in the Virgin Islands under the theme, “Strengthening Mental Wellness Through Family Support: Caring is Sharing”.

LIME has partnered with the BVI Health Services Authority throughout the years, sponsoring The Pulse magazine, and events which include World Physiotherapy Day.  Head of Community Mental Health Centre, Dr. Virginia Rubaine expressed her gratitude for LIME’s continued efforts.

“We are so grateful to LIME for their sponsorship, and it speaks volume to their commitment to this Territory, especially to our patients.” Dr. Rubaine said.

The next date for the Incredible Race 2013 has already been set for Saturday, 18th May 2013.
