Rotarians and KATS Sailing Director preparing for the winter program.
The Kids And The Sea (KATS) Sailing Program has a few slots remaining for children, ages 9-15, to join in the twelve session sailing program every Saturday from 9:00 to 12:00.
We’re holding signups this Saturday November 12th, at the KATS container past the Yacht Club and VISAR base at Cleaning Hole (Road Reef Marina).
Any child who has passed the KATS Basic Sea Skills Program is eligible to come out and enjoy the fun of learning to sail onboard one of the Laser sailboats in the KATS fleet. Parental permission required. Program fee is $100 for twelve sessions; sponsorship support may be available.
The KATS sailing program aims not only to teach sailing, but to build on a student’s sea safety skills learned in the basic program. The goal of KATS sailing is to encourage these students to then move onto the IC 24’s KATS owns.
The Annual Premier Cup is a one-design formatted event held on IC 24’s here in the BVI. It is the largest youth team sailing event in the Caribbean. Digicel’s participation as platinum sponsor of this event enables the entire KATS program to operate smoothly throughout the year.
If you would like to find out more about the KATS programs available for your child contact:Â Chris at 346-5287 .
