No negativity for the New Year – Speaker of the House

New speaker of the House of Assembly Ingrid Moses-Scatliffe has called on members of the House not to focus on the negatives surrounding the territory in the New Year.
Speaking at the last sitting of the House last week for this year, Moses-Scatliffe said: “As you approach a New Year, do not linger and focus on the negative circumstances surrounding this territory. I trust that you will embrace a spirit of hope and confidence that your collective belief and new outlook will usher in a new love for our country as together every citizen rallies around one common cause to make these Virgin Islands a better place for the New Year.”
She told members that when they spread goodwill throughout the season and make their New Year resolutions, not to forget the less fortunate in our territory.
She added: “I trust that members will write new resolutions for the New Year fixed with a purpose to see the lives of all citizens and residents in this territory improved in one way or another. In this season as you share the burdens of your constituents, I trust that you will reflect on all citizens and residents who may have lost a love one, who was saddened by some experience or suffered some deep hurt throughout this year.
“May this holiday season cause you to reach out to those who are in need of comfort and inner cheer. My wish for the New Year is that all members continue to live in hope and never despair and to deepen their belief that the times and challenges you face in this territory as a Second House of Assembly are just for a short season. I trust that when you return in the New Year to continue the people’s business, it would not be long when once again goodwill can be shared among all citizens and residents alike. As a nation whose hope is in God, I pray that his peace will transcend your lives and keep us all united as one people. God bless these Virgin Island and all the people who call here home.”

keep up the good work Ingrid we need more BVIslnders taking these post. you will get negativity from some but keep keeping God will surely direct your paths.
