NOTICE: Simulation Exercise

The public is advised that the Department of Disaster Management will be participating in the 2010 “Lantex” National Simulation Exercise.
The Virgin Islands will join other localities in the Northwest Atlantic as a participant in an earthquake and tsunami response exercise to be held later this month. The exercise will evaluate the response plans for effective information dissemination in regards to earthquake and tsunami events impacting the Virgin Islands. The exact date and time of the exercise is being withheld so that a true test of the Public Notification and Early Warning System can take place.
The geographic location of the Virgin Islands presents the possibility of the Territory experiencing a major earthquake or tsunami, therefore it is imperative that we prepare the Territory and educate the public.
