OPINION: Lady Gaga’s “Judas” suppresses the truth about Christ’s life

Lady Gaga’s recent attempt to rehabilitate the disciple Judas is nothing new. In April 2006, the agnostic “Gospel of Judas” went on display in Washington. It incorrectly portrayed Judas as Jesus’ closest disciple saying that Jesus asked Judas to hand Him over to the Roman authorities so that He could fulfil His mission.
In reality, however, Judas was a greedy liar who put his desire for money ahead of his relationship with Jesus. Judas’ betrayal of his close friend is the clearest example Christians have of someone who refuses God’s saving love.
For Judas, only power and success are real; love does not count. Judas purposefully ignored the truth, hardened and became incapable of conversion. He eventually threw his destroyed life away.
With Lady Gaga’s new single “Judas” we can see how Christ is being sold again, only this time to music publishers and record stores for millions of dollars. People are being manipulated by an entertainment industry which is more interested in touting the newest fad or insight rather than the truth.
The song “Judas” deliberately suppresses the truth about Christ’s life, His death on the cross and His resurrection.

Everyone here is condemning Judas for what he did but does no one remember that his actions were PREORDAINED?????? God had his plan for Judas from the moment he was conceived in his mother’s womb. If not for Judas or another who would have been chosen by the FATHER to do the same, we would not have reason to believe that the Scriptures have been fulfilled and believe that Jesus died on the cross and ROSE from the dead for our sins and therefore is the MESSIAH. Judas realised his mistake and asked for forgiveness and tried to rectify the worng he had commited by returning the silver. Jesus forgave him so why can we not?????? That is the heart of Christianity, to LOVE one another as CHRIST has LOVED US.
@, You said something just now that struck me, Judas’s role was “pre-ordained”, that his purpose to betray Christ was planned from as early as his conception.
If God pre-ordains and plans these things then God knew Judas would have committed suicide after betraying Jesus. Christians preach that those who commit suicide are destined automatically for hell.
Are you suggesting then that Judas was “pre-ordained” to go to hell?
Why didn’t God use Judas to do the betrayal, but provide and option for him to receive salvation?
And don’t come tell me that Judas had free will and could have chosen not to kill himself.
Why would he have free will on the matter of suicide, but no other choice but to betray Christ?
There’s enough to confuse us all. If you try to follow the argument of science and match it to reports from the word of God you must get confused. If you created a cake and I never made one before, don’t know how to scratch a match and never saw an oven, how would you explain it to me in 10 sentences so I could do it myself?
Well that’s why 1 Corinthians says simply, “For now we see through a glass dimly, but then shall we know even as we are known”. Human life and existance is much more than the natural, we need to tap into the spiritual element. Lady Gaga is doing that in one way, the rest of us on the other end and the means war. Spritual warfare and that messes with every ordinary person’s mind even mine…Check out Wikipedia any day on the science of uniformitarianism, creation, antediluvian times… yeah.. I could start messing with all of ya’ll minds and I am a born again believer in Christ.
Information can do that. Now chose your belief system because it does boil down to a choice and Lady Gaga has plaining made her choice. The rest of us have got to allow make ours and not even God messing with that. His laws are already in place. Jehovah God, Adonai, El Shaddai knows how to fix His business. It’s for the rest of us to accept that and recognize.

Her videos are demonic and she herself or shimself in ignoring the truth. The prince of the air is truly ruling the world for now but its the fourth quarter and he has no time out. The game is going to end soon. And the only words he will hear is game over!

Jesus was just a guy who had some great ideas in his time. Full of charisma and followers like all the tv bible pushers we have today. His ideas we’re to bring the people together in harsh times but they have been corrupted by all the churches wanting the peoples money to meet their own ends. We used to believe the world was flat, we used to believe the earth was at the centre of the universe, please wake up. The world wasn’t created about 6000 years ago as believed by some faiths if not all christian faiths.
Neanderthal man skeletons are located all around the world. Their brain cavity is much smaller than modern mans so please explain to me if God created the earth and the heavens as it says in the first lines of the bible and created man in his own image a sin by all accounts, then where did neanderthal man come from?
I’m sure I will hear rants and raves but all I ask for is the answer to the question.. Then perhaps…

You both sound like scientists who claim to know stuff was in place for billions of years when they themselves are only about 47yrs average. I know this for a fact, “the bible chapters from Gen to Rev are over 2000yrs old and the stories have never changed. You all read plenty of crap today like Lady GAGA that is changing by the seconds like an unstable ground and believe it because you can see it. If you want to get the rest of the story in the bible why not use your conscience and ask the spirit that is within you. Oh I forgot, nature did not teach you that you have a spirit or you override it again!

Gravity. The only way you can prove there is a god is that the planet along with the other trillion or so out there is hovering in the universe.
You cannot prove anything, the Bible is there to control and help the people that need help, a lot of you clearly need help and to be controlled.

@Anonymous, I will answer your question if you can answer your wrong account. Where did it say in the bible that when God created man in his image “it was a sin by all account?” The bible has nothing to do with religion and God never said he was religious. Not because you seem to be in a box of not believing means you can place anyone in that same box. Not everyone who defends the Word of God is religious. Christ was not religious nor was he a Christian!

@gaga, It is unfortunate that people do not even attempt to comprehend what its like to have this beautiful belief! I do not see anyone making excuses for anything. Although it may seem like we are trying to convince anyone of anything, you’re very very mistaken.
It was never about religion, religion is nothing but a man’s creation to materialize what cannot be made into form. Religion is nothing but a manner to segregate those who blindly follow. The truth lies behind faith, true faith, which comes from resting in the arms of the One who created all.
As far as the Neanderthals, the Bible speaks of creatures who live on Earth prior to the creation of men, however, it does not go into detail because the Bible reflects the story of men and men alone!
Believe me, dinosaurs existed and most likely pre-historic beings, but all of that was destroyed somehow and many experts believe that it was caused by the expulsion of Lucifer from Heaven. In fact, if you watch a documentary by the Geographic channel called “Angels and Demons”, you may be able to understand a little bit about faith! You will see that although a physicochemical process created the world, that process could have never happened BY CHANCE, without a MASTERMIND behind it.
To finalize, you criticize us, believers of someone that preaches nothing but goodness. What do you believe in? Someone whose ‘great’ influence revolves around her singing and provocative clothing? Someone who cannot do anything for anyone? Hey, if that’s how you choose to live, I feel for you. I’ll take my Jesus any day.

@Realist, buddy, we all have the same questions as you may have, but you must understand that many things are beyond our knowledge, our capacity. The Bible tell the story of how man came to be, not anything else. It does, however, cite passages about times when giants walked the Earth, which leads many to believe it to be the pre-historic times we all wonder about.
My friendly advice to you, stop asking the wrong questions.. let me ask you a question, if you’re right and there’s no God, then great, right?! What if there really is?! Have you thought about the consequences of ignoring such a truth?
In my point of view, you have nothing to lose… Jesus is real, God is real, you just gotta believe it to see it!
