New York, NY – Peter Island Resort & Spa in the British Virgin Islands offers an array of culinary festivities during the week of July 1st including its greatly anticipated, annual BBQ & Bubbles party.
BBQ festivities begin at 7pm, Wednesday July 4th on Deadman’s Bay Beach with a delicious BBQ, Veuve Clicquot Champagne provided by Caribbean Cellars and live music.
The Certified Angus Beef ® brand brings Chef Govind Armstrong to be Peter Island’s guest chef for the week of festivities. Chef Govind is a native of Los Angeles who grew up in Costa Rica, a cookbook author, creator of the 8 oz. Burger Bar brand, and has appeared as a guest judge on Top Chef and a contestant on Iron Chef America.
His current project, Post & Beam, in Los Angeles’ Baldwin Hills area, has received rave reviews with its farm-fresh, locally sourced menu, and onsite garden, and is quickly becoming a community staple. He will join the culinary teams for a cook-off contest to prepare the July 4th BBQ feast with the Peter Island Resort BBQ Team and the British Virgin Islands Culinary Team.
The menu will feature a delicious array of dishes including local Anegada Lobster, Certified Angus Beef ® Tri-Tip and Certified Angus Beef ® “Denver” Steak. Guests attending the BBQ party will vote on the winning team.
The annual BBQ & Bubbles July 4th Party is open to guests and non-guests of Peter Island Resort and is priced at USD 80 per person for the BBQ, and an additional USD 30 for Veuve Clicquot champagne throughout the evening. This pricing does not include accommodations. Transport to Peter Island is available at designated times from the Peter Island Welcome Center at the CSY ferry dock in Road Town on the island of Tortola. Saturday, July 7 – Wine Dinner featuring a menu of fine cuisine prepared by Chef Govind Armstrong at Tradewinds restaurant for up to 60 people for USD 175 per person. Open to the public for reservations.
