Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II is celebrating her Diamond Jubilee (60 Years of Sovereignty). Here in the Territory, the ceremonial parade in observance of the Queen’s Birthday will be held on Monday, 4 June.
During that ceremony, the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee medals will be awarded to over 200 Armed Services, Emergency Services and Prison Services Personnel who have completed five calendar years of service. One of the highlights of the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee and Birthday celebration is the ceremonial lighting of the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee Beacon. The Virgin Islands will join in this observance by simultaneously lighting Beacons on Tortola, Virgin Gorda, Jost Van Dyke and Anegada.
