By Jessica M. Nesbitt

From since the month I felt you move
My tummy started to grow and grow
For three months I had not shown
Feeling sick but did not know
All the while you lay inside me
Getting bigger to surprise me

How unexpected your life was
Like a present that I’d won!
How excited I’ll be to meet you!
Shaking your little hand to greet you
To look into your beady eyes
And try to have you make your first smile

I can’t wait to feel you in my arms
And hug you gently to keep you warm
I yearn to kiss your little nose
And count your itty, bitty toes
I’ll sing you songs that rhyme and rhyme
While doing a hand pantomime

Your first bath will be a blast
You can swim around and splash and splash
I’ll kiss each one of your tiny fingers
And take a million of your pictures
I’ll tickle your tummy and smell your feet
And feed you foods you’ll love to eat

While you sleep I’ll stroke your face
To make you feel completely safe
And when you cry I’ll be by your side
To get you anything you desire
And when you’re not able to fall asleep
I’ll stay up with you and we’ll read and read

Dedicated to my son, Khaelem

Thanx everyone I really do hope u enjoy it! Writing is my passion and this poem I wrote while pregnant with my first child. I used to read this to my tummy for months before my baby was born and believe it is the perfect expression of how mothers feel while waiting
