The Premier’s Office joins the rest of the Territory in paying tribute to former legislator, the late Waldo Emerson O’Neal.
Mr. O’Neal passed away at the age of 94 on December 25 at his home in Valley, Virgin Gorda. He is brother to the current Premier Honourable Ralph T. O’Neal, OBE.
Permanent Secretary in the Premier’s Office, Mrs. Rosalie Adams offered her condolences. She said, “On behalf of the Premier’s Office, I wish to extend condolences to the family and friends of the late Waldo O’Neal. As a former legislator and brother of our Premier, it is very important that the entire Territory acknowledge the passing of this leader.”
Mr. O’Neal was a former member of the then Legislative Council and representative of the Fifth District, comprising Anegada and Virgin Gorda, from 1957 to 1960.
Flags at the House of Assembly are being flown at half mast up until the day of his funeral on January 8. On the day of the funeral, flags will also be flown at half mast on all public buildings throughout the Territory.

Respect is due and may the former legislator, the late Waldo Emerson O’Neal rest in peace. Knowing the O’Neal family has great ties in East End and I give condolences to the entire O’Neal family and extended but most of all to the Premier during his lost of his oldest brother who was a joy to talk to and made a person smile!!!

Mr. Premier, be strong….we know VG will sure miss him…I remember him from my youngest days…..he had some serious history of the BVI in his memory bank…Mr. Premier, we’re waiting on your book.
