Residents and staff of the Adina Donovan Home for the Elderly were assisted and visited by the Rotaract Club of Tortola on Sunday, December 22, with a gift presentation of amenities, additional Christmas decorations and entertainment arrangements of live Christmas fungi music performed by the “Razor Blades”.

Community Service Director, Akeem Robinson said that this year the club had made special efforts to include a holistic day of Holiday cheer for all persons working and living at the home.

“This year, we were able to give quite a number of personal items such as vests and toiletries, as we wanted to ensure that everyone would have received important amenities. This also promotes a sense of kindness, care and giving for this special season.”

“Many of the other things we donated were quite similar to last year’s contributions including; shampoos and conditioners, and other necessary toiletries.”

He added, “I also observed more of a festive aura this year as a handful of the residents were on their feet dancing to the sweet sounds of the Razor Blades… it was truly a positive, heartwarming event!”

The Rotaract Club of Tortola has officially “adopted” the Adina Donovan home for the Elderly as an area of focus in the Tortola community for service. The Club has participated in several community service activities and contributions towards the Home during the Club’s existence.

Just seeing this story. It could only be Mrs. Donovan having those old people on their feet. She is that type of person, funny despite the odds.
