March 2 is the date that was selected for the trial of Sasha Hodge who is facing charges of acquisition, possession or use of the proceeds of a criminal conduct.
Hodge’s matter was called in the Magistrate’s Court on January 18 but was adjourned. During the reporting of the matter Crown Council Sarah Benjamin mentioned that Hodge had new defence representation and therefore the Crown needed to make fresh disclosure.
Hodge was offered bail in the sum of $200,000 cash and had to surrender all her travel documents. The mother of a six-year old was also ordered to report to the Road Town Police station on Tuesdays, Fridays and Sundays between 6 am and 6 pm.
She was previously represented by J S Archibald, QC.
Hodge was arrested on August 24 along with Earl Delville Hodge known as ‘Bob Hodge’, Violet ‘Letty’ Hodge, Customs Officer Roberto Harrigan known as ‘Tico’, Chad Skelton, and Carlston Beazer.
It was reported that police found a suitcase containing a large quantity of cash, most of which was sealed in plastic and duct tape. Each package held $10,000 and totaled $389,190. Another plastic bag was discovered with $30,000 cash, at Sasha Hodge’s West End residence.
The total cash found on the individuals at the time of their arrest stands at approximately $7,000.
Sasha Hodge had admitted to police that the suitcase belonged to her but she denied knowledge of its contents. He father, during his interview with police, backed up this story by admitting that the case was his that he saved over a period of five years. Police found the matching key to case in his possession.
The Magistrate approved an order to further detain the money found at Sasha Hodge’s home.

The reasons why some West Indians–especially black West Indians–are so negative are due to the following:
1. Slavery–the whites taught us to hate ourselves.
2. Inculcated–we hate to see our ilk prosper.
3. We imagine that Jesus and God are White–when the Bible states that Jesus’s “skin was the color of bronze and his hair was the texture of wool.”
As such, absent a “Saviour” who looks like us, and the historical and psychological debasement suffered during and after Slavery, some Black West Indians seek and find self-esteem by denigrating others who resemble themselves!

After locking her up throw the key off Norman Island just for old times sake
No, no! Lock her up an melt down the key! Stupid is as stupid does…
ok – how about we melt it, wrap it up in duct tape and throw it overboard near Norman island!
Simple you good in your head, she is still human after all, she only had the LOCKED suitcase what was in it was not hers.
The whole of Tortola knew what Bob was into, you cant tell me she had no idea. Please!!!
She is guilty of more than you think.
So this suitcase was found at “her” West End residence. The suitcase is “hers”.
However, “her” father saved up over five years and stored at “her” residence rather than the bank.
“her” residence and her father can, put money in a suitcase and forget to tell her of his savings over five years. Did the police ask where was it being stored before the day he relocated it to her residence? Where is our forensic team to match finger prints.
Anything is possible these days, I guess.
Wow! So you apparently ‘KNOW’ that it was not there at “her” residence all this time? And if so, can you save the cops a ton of time and tell them where it was before?
Thanks
The story has an error. At the initial court case it was reported that she said the cases are hers but she knows nothing of the money. The cases are hers, NOT THE LOCKS! The father said he put the lock on and the money inside. OF course, if you’re being real, she had to know the money was there. But we’re dealing with facts. She said she didn’t know the money was there, the father said the same and he had the keys. Let’s see who the courts believe….
