Today, March 17, 2012 BVI News Online got snapshots for the farewell sendoff of Sgt. Joseph Toulon, who died on March 2 in a vehicle accident.
A parade of officers began from Road Town Police Station to the Road Town Methodist Church. The viewing and funeral service was followed by the interment with full honours at the Sea Cows Bay Public Cemetery.

EARLIER STORY: Premier joins territory in remembering Sergeant Joseph Toulon
Friday, March 16 – Premier and Minister of Finance Dr. the Honourable D. Orlando Smith, OBE and his Government join with the family, friends and members of the Royal Virgin Islands Police Force in remembering the life of Sergeant Joseph Toulon who will be laid to rest today, Saturday, March 17.
Sergeant Toulon, a long serving police officer, succumbed to injuries sustained from a vehicle accident in Spooner’s Estate on March 2.
In speaking with the Department of Information and Public Relations, Premier said the news of Sergeant Toulon’s death came as a shock and has now left a void in those who knew him.
In remembering Sergeant Toulon, Premier Smith said, “He had a very serious devotion to law enforcement and to the security of these Virgin Islands. He believed firmly that police-community relations were important to deterring crime.”
According to Honourable Smith, when he served as Chief Minister, Sergeant Toulon was his protection officer at different intervals. Premier said, “He was always frank, yet professional with his comments. He was committed to what he was doing. He was always diligent and steadfast in his commitment to my protection. Although he was seen as serious about his business, he had a very gentle heart.”

Sgt. Toulon's remains surrounded by two honour guard police officers at the Road Town Police Station today. Toulon, who died in a vehicular accident, will be laid to rest tomorrow.
Honourable Smith extends condolences to his family on behalf of the Government and people of the Virgin Islands.

have to live for god in order to r.i.p peace people get it real if u die not knowing christ as ur lord and personel saviour there is no peace so no matter wat or who said it , its a personel thing between u and god so if u die in ur sin u goin strait 2 hell no if no but well he was a good man its not about wat u do in this world but is all about who u kno at the end of the day its wat u do with his son that wat matter to christ (AMEN)
AMEN!! Grace. I hope they know that. I am tired of going to funerals and people talking how Joe was a good man etc etc. As good as we are when we stand before the Master on judgement Day it doesn’t matter how much good you did or how good you are.
Funeral messages should be for the living to get their life in order to meet the Master when death comes knocking.
