Thousands of people are expected to flock the shores of Jost Van Dyke in the BVI for back-to-back live performances by renowned Jamaican musicians Shaggy and Tarrus Riley.

The “Lucky 13” event which is being hosted by Foxy’s will run from December 29 to 31, and will include local artistes Final Faze, Showtime Band and West Lindy.

Shaggy and Final Faze will hit the stage on December 29 while the Tarrus Riley concert – with Showtime Band and West Lindy – will kick off Old Year’s Night on December 31.

Foxy’s owner, Tessa Callwood, said: “Our event offers so much freedom and there are so many places to enjoy the festivities. Unlike some places, you don’t have to be stationary in a field or ampitheatre; you can move around and enjoy yourself… People can jump straight into the water from the boat and go party on the beach.”

His daughter, Justine, said Foxy’s has always featured top-rated talents including the Beach Boys, Lucky Dube, Third World, and Toots and the Maytals.

Justine thinks this year’s lineup is a spectacular addition. “It’s going to be a blast. It’s going to be the biggest show we’ve ever done; the biggest collection of artistes…It’s going to be a blowout.”

Great expectations are also being harboured by Acting Director of the BVI Tourist Board Malcia Smith Hamilton. She said: “Foxy’s Old Year’s Night is an exciting event that has increasingly become an intriguing fete for a great number of repeat visitors and new tourists from around the globe.”

Foxy’s has hosted parties on Old Year’s Night since opening in 1968. The show drew one of its largest crowds for the millennium and received numerous international accolades and rankings. Tickets for this year’s events are $45 dollars per night, if purchased in advance.
