After a long and arduous season, the only two teams left standing in the British Basketball League are Glasgow Rocks and Everton Tigers. The rest of the teams in the league have finished their season, but fans of these teams need not wait until September for the action to resume, as this BBL Playoff Final match up is as unpredictable and enticing as any we have seen in recent years, and neither side is going to give up the biggest accolade in British Basketball lightly.
On Saturday, May, 8, these two high flying offensive teams will bring lots of excitement to the NIA Arena in Birmingham, England. The game begins at 3:30 pm with an exciting BBL All Star game followed by the championship game at 6 pm.
Parillon’s thoughts on the game: “Playing in this game finally is a great accomplishment for my team and for my personal success. It has been a great season even with the ups and downs, but that’s what makes a team stronger. It also feels great to be a BVI player competing in the biggest basketball game in the UK in front thousands of people, and I think myself and Randy “Chino” George have showed the UK we have talent in our small islands.
“I played with a chip on my shoulder this season after coming up short in the Carib Basketball championship game last summer, and I have no intentions to make it two in a row. I really want to win this championship, and then head home to the BVI to join the national team in preparing for the big tournaments we have this summer. I can’t wait.”
