U.S. Consular Officer to hold office hours for American Citizens in Tortola, British Virgin Islands

Bridgetown, Barbados, Tuesday, April 13, 2010 – A Consular Officer from the United States Embassy in Barbados will visit Tortola May 4-5, 2010. The Consular Officer will be providing American Citizen Services, accepting applications for U.S. passports and Consular Reports of Birth Abroad (CRBA). Visa cases will not be discussed.
Please have all forms filled out prior to your appointment.
Office hours are as follows: Tuesday, May 4, 8:30AM to 12PM and 1PM to 4 PM, and Wednesday, May 5, 8:30AM to 1PM, at Royal Virgin Islands Police Headquarters, Waterfront Drive, Road Town. An appointment is required to meet with the Consular Officer. To schedule an appointment, please e-mail the following information to [email protected] :

2. Desired date/time for appointment

4. List what you are applying for (E.g. U.S. Passport, Report of Birth etc… )

The Embassy will respond to your email to confirm your appointment date and time.
Fees: Child’s passport (under 16) US$85, first adult passport US$100, CRBA US$65. (Fees are payable by international money order or bank draft, made out to “U.S. Embassy, Barbados”). Persons seeking to renew a ten-year passport issued less than 15 years ago, and who can present the expired passport, may apply by mail directly to the Embassy; the fee is US$75.
All passport applicants who cannot present a previous ten-year passport issued less than fifteen years ago must appear for an interview with the Consular Officer. If both parents are listed on the birth certificate of a child under age 16, both parents must appear in person with the child OR submit a notarized statement of consent from the parent not present. All passport applicants must provide a completed passport application and proof of U.S. citizenship; such as previous U.S. passports, U.S. birth certificate, or U.S. Naturalization Certificate. For a child under 16, bring current passport, birth certificate and a photocopy of certificate, parents’ passports (along with photocopies of descriptive data pages of parents’ passports) and two passport-size photos. A prepaid air waybill (FedEx, DHL, QuikPak, etc.) is required in order to mail passports back to The British Virgin Islands.
