The Water and Sewerage Department would like to advise customers of an interruption to the water supply. The reason for this interruption is to carry out cleaning of the membrane filters at the Baughers Bay Desalination Plant. As a result, water production will be reduced during the cleaning period.

This scheduled cleaning will take place from Tuesday 17th July to Saturday 21st July, 2012. The water supply is expected to return to its normal schedule by Monday, 23rd July, 2012.

Affected areas will experience low water pressure, a reduction in water supply hours and in some cases no water. Customers are therefore advised to use alternate sources of water. However, the Department intends to supply water, particularly to the Road Town business district during morning hours. During these hours, customers are encouraged to store an adequate supply of water for the evening hours. Affected areas will include Baughers Bay to Slaney including Fort Hill, Road Town, Free Bottom, Horsepath, Long Bush, Huntums Ghut and the Ridge Road up to Cane Garden Bay.

The Department sincerely regrets the inconvenience that this interruption may cause and asks the affected customers for their patience and understanding, as the Department strives to fulfil our commitment to provide a continuous supply of safe potable water to all BVI residents.
