Water supply interruption

The Water and Sewerage Department wishes to advise customers in the following areas that their water supply will be temporarily interrupted: Brandywine Bay to Road Town, including Fort Hill, Purcell Estate, and Free Bottom as well as Duff’s Bottom to West End.
This interruption is as a result of the island-wide power outage experienced on 28th April, 2010 which affected production at both the Baughers Bay and Sea Cows Bay Desalination Plants, which resulted in low reservoir levels. Additionally, the Sea Cows Bay Plant experienced a technical hitch since the power outage, which they are presently addressing and expect to have it resolved by 6:00 p.m. today.
Customers will therefore experience low water pressure and a reduction in water supply hours. The Water and Sewerage Department is working to resolve the issue and water supply is expected to be regularized by Saturday, 1st May, 2010. For the next few days, customers are advised that
1. There will be no water supply during the evening hours from 8:00 p.m. until 6:00 a.m.
2. During the daytime hours from 6:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., customers may experience low water pressure, especially in the higher elevations.
The Water and Sewerage Department apologises for the inconvenience and asks residents for their patience as we endeavour to provide a continuous suply of potable water to the territory.
