Police on St. Croix are investigating a case of Robbery First that occurred on Wednesday, June 13 in the Mount Pellier area of Frederiksted.
Officers from B Command responded at about 8:15 p.m. to a 911 dispatch and once on the scene they encountered a man whose hands were tied behind his back.
The victim told police someone came to his home asking for assistance with a flat tire. The victim said as he was assisting the person, three or four other people came running out of the bushes demanding that he give up the money and drugs.
The suspects took the victim back inside his house and tied his hands. They poured Clorox on him and struck him several times with a machete. Before fleeing the home, the suspects took the victims’ keys and about $500 in cash.
The victim was treated for his injuries at the Governor Juan F. Luis Hospital. The case is being followed up by the Criminal Investigation Bureau detectives.
