Primary readers and young adults are invited to enter a competition during March to win an Amazon Kindle or lessons in Scuba, Sailing or Swimming – courtesy of Sail Caribbean Divers and the BVI Watersports Centre – just by reading an adventure novel!
Encouraging literacy and developing an interest in reading for primary and secondary children has taken on a new twist since Special Olympics launched their own novel – The Eye of the Storm in November 2011.
The story has earned rave reviews by a vast cross section of the community here in the Virgin Islands as well as becoming noticed internationally. To reward her readers and encourage even more young people to read the book set on Kamaria in the Caribbean, Alison Knights Bramble will be at Rite Way’s main store on Saturday afternoon giving away entry forms to anyone 18 or under who has already read the novel or would like to!
