Tortola, British Virgin Islands, March 18, 2010: Tuesday was a day designed just for an outing to Brandywine Bay Beach. The warm bright sunshiny day was perfect as LIME employees entertained the residents of Adina Donovan Home for the Elderly. Eight LIME employees were given time off from work to perform voluntary service for the community outreach project.
The thirty-four residents, enjoying the treat of a day by the sea, relaxed under the shade of LIME tents, sang along with the familiar gospel music of their generation, and swam in the sea. Lunch, also sponsored by LIME, catered to their special dietary needs.
LIME also provided something special for the staff of Adina Donovan Home for the Elderly by giving them LIME branded tote bags and free prepaid top ups totaling close to $400.
La Verne Hodge, Corporate Communications Manager for LIME BVI, said, “LIME today continues to show our community that we really care by interacting with our senior citizens on a one-to-one basis in a way that we hope makes them feel appreciated.” She added, “It is our way of honouring those that came before us that have trail-blazed, laid the foundation of our society and country that was instrumental in making the BVI the success that it is today.”
Upon arrival at the beach, the residents eagerly began to prepare for a dip in the sea and did not want to wait for the rest of their group to come off the bus. This was their day and they wanted to enjoy it to the utmost.
Assisted into the water, all residents soaked in the sea while their limbs were rubbed down with smiles in their eyes, if not on their faces.
Ms Wheatley, Director of Adina Donovan Home declared, “This day means so much to our residents – they are all lit up and are thoroughly enjoying themselves. Thank you LIME for this beautiful gift.”
LIME employees were Ken Guiste, Debrah Henry, Lennox Lewis, Ronney Sweeney, Kevin Barry, Ingrid Callwood and Keith Vernon.

Wow!! That was very nice of LIME Staff to volunteer their time and spend time with the elderly who has made a way for all of us in Tortola by songs, words, prayers or a selfless act of kindness. I thank you LIME for allowing such a joyous day to be held and I can look at the pics shared that those elderly folks ENJOYED themselves….that was wonderful, they needed a little TLC and quality time at the beach was well spent…..God bless all who took the time to make a difference for the elderly!! I appreciate your kindness…….I don’t live there, but I have relatives there so Thank you!!
