Three correctional officers have been beaten at Her Majesty’s Prison.

They allegedly were attacked on the weekend by three inmates during the latest physical altercation to unfold at the violence-plagued facility.

Two of the three correctional officers have been treated at Peebles Hospital, BVI News Online has confirmed.

The matter was reported to the Royal Virgin Islands Police Force, which is still investigating.

BVI News Online understands that one of the three young inmates, who is fingered in the weekend attack on the officers, also wounded two other inmates since the start of the year. The frequent attacker is serving time for an illegal gun.

Another of the alleged attackers, sources told BVI News Online, is also in prison for a gun offence. Furthermore, reports are that he wounded another correctional officer at Her Majesty’s Prison last year.

The third alleged attacker was charged recently in relation to a murder.
