Another man allegedly held with cocaine

Not the cocaine mentioned in the story.

Police have made another arrest in a series of drug busts on Tortola since the hurricanes.

Information reaching BVI News are that a man believed to be a British Virgin Islands native and resident of Sea Cow’s Bay was held at the weekend with a quantity of cocaine.

Further reports are that the man was charged with possession of a controlled drug as well as possession of cocaine with intent to supply to another.

Details leading up to his arrest are not clear but usually-credible sources said the man has been granted police bail and will appear before the Magistrate’s Court early next year.

At least four other persons were allegedly held with drugs since the hurricanes.

Thirty-one-year-old Shakeel Pondt was held with more than three kilos of cocaine and marijuana, while 47-year-old Laren Turnbull was allegedly found with more than 40 grams of cocaine and marijuana.

Other persons accused of drug possession since the hurricanes include Towers resident Joel Vanterpool as well as Dean Smith of Baughers Bay.
