Body identified; police launch probe

The Royal Virgin Islands Police Force (RVIPF) said it is investigating the death of a 68-year-old man whose body was found just below Threllfall on Tortola recently.

The deceased has been identified as missing person Norbert ‘Fix It’ Wheatley of Huntums Ghut.

He was reportedly last seen on September 9 close to the East End Police Station, said the RVIPF.

“Police are seeking the public’s assistance in establishing the movements of Mr Wheatley between the 9th and 24th of September; in particular any person who may have given him a lift to the Threllfall or Sage Mountain area, or who may have seen him there,” said police in a media release today.

The RVIPF, in the meantime, said the deceased man’s family has been notified of police findings.

“Police had sought public’s assistance in locating Mr Wheatley after his family members themselves enlisted assistance,” said then RVIPF.
