Reports reaching BVI News Online are that a male scooter rider has suffered an apparent broken leg in an accident near Big Brothers Gas Station in Baughers Bay, Tortola.

The scooter reportedly collided with a Jeep transporting tourists about mid-day, January 17.

The injured man was removed from the crash scene a short while ago in a vehicle operated by the Virgin Islands Fire and Rescue Services. No ambulance arrived.

Members of the Royal Virgin Islands Police Force visited the scene to investigate.

That accident happened less than 24 hours after a local scooter rider, 26 year-old Kyle Frank, died in an accident near Treasure Isle hotel.

It also unfolded two days after a two-vehicle collision resulted in seven people being taken to Peebles Hospital. Four of them are tourists.
