A new person has been put in charge of coordinating and managing government affairs.
That person is Dawn Smith who has been appointed as Acting Permanent Secretary in the Premier’s Office.
Smith received the appointment so the current permanent secretary, Brodrick Penn could focus on his new role as Chairman of the Disaster Recovery Coordination Committee (DRCC).
The DRCC is a committee appointed by Cabinet to provide oversight and advice on all aspects of the territory’s recovery activities and initiatives.
Smith’s appointment, in the meantime, became effective on November 1.
A media release from Government today explained: “The acting Permanent Secretary will oversee the overall coordination and management of the work of Government to ensure the successful formulation and implementation of ministerial and cross-ministerial government policies and programmes.”
Smith has served as General Counsel at the Financial Services Commission, as well as a member of the Public Service Commission (PSC).
Government said she has relinquished her post on the PSC.
