BVI accepting visitors again

The government said it is allowing persons to visit the British Virgin Islands (BVI) to assist their relatives with recovery efforts, but they will be allowed to stay initially for only four weeks.

A restriction was imposed on visitors after Hurricane Irma caused widespread devastation on September 6.

“Restrictions have been lifted to allow family members to visit the territory to ensure the well-being of their relatives. Persons will be allowed to visit the territory for a period of four weeks.”

“A return ticket will be required upon arrival to depart the territory by the requisite time given by Immigration. Extensions to landing permits will be given on a case by case basis,” said the BVI government.
