The Office of the Supervisor of Elections is recruiting election officers for the upcoming general elections in 2019.

Eligible candidates must be Virgin Islanders or Belongers who are registered voters and who are 18 years or older, the Elections Office said.

Interested persons are invited to apply by writing to the Office of the Supervisor of Elections.

The application should include specific place of employment, contact information, and a mailing address.

The application process closes on September 30, this year.

The 2019 General Elections are said to be highly anticipated and preparations have already begun on a number of fronts.

Just recently, the Office of the Supervisor of Elections announced it was exploring technology that will result in a faster and more efficient ballot-tallying process.

On another front, at least one political aspirant has announced intentions to run for office during the next election.

However, neither of the two main political parties in the BVI have announced the candidates who will be running under their respective National Democratic Party and Virgin Islands Party banners.

both NDP and VIP need to go. A new party with persons who are for this country and will not be blinded when they get in office is the way to go else come 2019 there will be a coalition government.

That’s the trouble, they all start out being for the country. We need leaders who have vision, heart a pair of gonads to navigate these challenging times ahead. Its not a job for the faint hearted. I’m an advocate for healthy debates amongst the candidates and term limits.
