Gun jammed – Motorist aims at pedestrian

police-1

A motorist reportedly pulled a gun at a young man on the weekend, but no shot emerged from the weapon when the trigger was pulled, BVI News Online has been informed by usually credible sources.

Details of the incident area still sketchy.

But it is said that the motorist, who was wearing a mask, saw the would-be victim walking along the roadway between Spooners and Long Trench, Tortola.

The motorist then pointed a gun at the pedestrian.

When he pulled the trigger and no shot emerged, he drove the vehicle away.

It is understood that the matter is being probed by the Royal Virgin Islands Police Force.

That is the second report received within weeks of guns apparently jamming, when pointed at would-be victims.

In the first incident shortly before noon on March 11, a man survived an attempt on his life at a car rental business in Road Town. In that incident, a gunman reportedly aimed a weapon at the would-be victim. The gun seemingly jammed, and the would-be shooter fled the area. Commissioner of Police Michael Matthews visited the location shortly afterwards.
