Islanders, Sea Argo net points; Sugar Boys cement lead

Sugar Boys has cemented their lead on the National Football League point standings while FC Sea Argo and the Islanders secured their first three points of the season.

This all unfolded on Sunday when six teams went head-to-head in the football tournament.

Islanders

The Islanders kicked things off when they finished their match against VG United with a strong 3-1 victory.

Rohan Lennon was the first to net a goal in the 38th minute; followed by Joshua Lynch in the 51st.

Joshua Ramprashad of VG United worsened things for his team with an own-goal in the 60th minute.

His teammate managed to score one on the Islanders in the 61st minute but that was not enough to seize a victory for VG United.

Sugar Boys

A media release from the BVI Football Association said drama continued to unfold on Virgin Gorda when Sugar Boys netted their third consecutive win of the season.

They secured a three-nil win over Old Madrid.

Sugar Boy, Derol Redhead scored the opener in the 40th minute, and Mohammed Kachour followed with the second goal in the 70th minute. Redhead returned with a third goal in the 87th minute.

Sea Argo

The final game of the day saw FC Sea Argo rock the Rebels with a 3-1 victory.

Matches will resume over the Easter weekend with Panthers FC taking on One Love FC at the AO Shirley Recreational Grounds at 3pm, and FC Sea Argo going up against VG United at 5pm at the same venue.
