Shannon John, 31, has been arrested and charged with inflicting grievous bodily harm.

He is also charged with unlawful possession of cannabis as well as warrant in default, said the Royal Virgin Islands Police Force (RVIPF).

John, who is a resident of Josiah’s Bay on Tortola, was charged on July 1.

The RVIPF, in its weekly Arrest Blotter, did not disclose the allegations behind the charges.

However, sketchy reports reaching BVI News Online are that the charges are linked to an incident in which another resident, Delwin Percival, was attacked and badly beaten a few days ago in the vicinity of Fine Foods Supermarket, East End.

The attacker then fled the scene in a motor vehicle.

The victim, who was bleeding after the attack, was treated at Peebles Hospital.
