Man allegedly wounds brother in fight over bathroom

A recent domestic dispute between siblings has left one brother nursing abdominal wounds and the other facing criminal charges.

Thirty-two-year-old Jost Van Dyke resident Dexter Donovan has been charged with unlawful and maliciously wounding.

He pleaded not guilty when he appeared before Senior Magistrate Tamia Richards on Friday, August 24.

Allegations

The court heard Donovan and his brother both reside in the same dwelling in Great Harbour, Jost van Dyke.

It is alleged that on May 29, the brothers got into an argument in relation to the use of a bathroom at the residence.

Their argument escalated into a physical altercation and Donovan allegedly wounded his brother with an unspecified sharp instrument.

The brother sustained a wound to the left side of his abdomen, the court heard.

Donovan was granted signed bail in the sum of $60,000 and is scheduled to reappear before the court on November 21 for trial.

Defence attorney Stacy Abel is representing the accused man.
